Aeroelasticity

Aeroelasticity is the umbrella term for the interaction between the elastic aircraft and the aerodynamic forces acting upon it. Structural problems that occur in connection with air flows on the tail or wing assembly can impair the controllability of the aircraft and result in potentially dangerous high loads.

We can help you prevent problems such as:

  • Self-amplifying oscillation of wings and rudders
  • Aerodynamic divergence
  • Reduction or reversal of rudder efficiency at high blade-tip velocities
  • Mass coupling effects

We examine the aircraft's aeroelastic behavior during the design phase, studying its impact on flight behavior and performance. With the IndustrieHansa Network of Competence we have specialists who apply their experience and expertise in aeroelasticity analyses and improvements.
