Digital buildability

As part of our continuous digital vehicle validation service, we check 3D CAD data for dynamic buildability. Simulations allow us to identify and rectify problems from early on in the product development process chain to subsequent production and manufacturing systems. This also allows us to reduce the number of expensive prototypes we have to build. Our core competencies include systems engineering and operative implementation of

  • buildability simulations including system-supported determination of possible assembly / dismantling options (automatic path-finder)
  • assembly sequence and simulation with equipment along the production line (production view / service / ergonomics)
  • dynamically supported packaging checks

Like the OEM development data, the 3D CAD data in the supplier's equipment must be checked for smooth interaction early on and at defined times. We undertake these checks at the OEM or on-site at the supplier's location so that structural, functional or process-related errors can be detected and eliminated at an early stage - without the need to build prototypes for fixtures. In this area, systems engineering and operative implementation focus on tasks such as

  • data exchange between the supplier and OEM
  • assembly sequence and simulations for fixtures
  • digital documentation of results
  • immediate initiation of changes within the supplier process chain
