It's a well-known fact that exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve your health and fitness. And combining sporting challenges with commitment to a social purpose really does provide motivation. 11 IndustrieHansa employees proved this in August and thanks to their successful participation in the Ruhrauenlauf charity run in Mülheim an der Ruhr, they supported children by donating money specifically for school supplies.
The IndustrieHansa management team was also enthusiastic about the idea in the run-up to the event. "We have a social responsibility towards families and children. Children are the future and we should always make a real effort to ensure that their school education is improved. Despite the economic crisis, we have to fulfill our responsibility," says René Esser, Managing Director and father of two children.
The non-profit organization Diakoniewerk Arbeit und Kultur was delighted that the employees of the IT and engineering service provider were able to raise €550 to finance further measures and projects to provide children with social and educational support. As the representatives of IndustrieHansa, Frank Figel and Jeffrey Roberts presented the check to Anke Werner, Deputy Manager of the Diakoniewerk, when they visited the Mülheimer Tafel (Mülheim food bank). In an interview, she explained the various services and the importance of social projects.
IndustrieHansa would like to continue supporting this campaign in the long term and will take part in the charity run again next year to actively raise money so that the Mülheimer Tafel can continue its good work. In addition to the local commitment of the IndustrieHansa employees, the company will donate a 5-figure sum, which it makes available each year for social purposes, to the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation.
