Bad Nauheim. About 140 engineering specialists from international OEMs coming from more than 16 countries have been joined by one common ground at this year’s Doors and Hatches specialist’s convention: To find answers to key questions concerning the feasibility of new body manufacture technologies in the automotive developing process.
The two-day event of the Automotive Circle International offered to the participants an ideal platform for discussion and information for their search for solutions. A top-class cast lecture program stressed the importance of the symposium for the branch. Also IndustrieHansa managing director René Esser used this platform together with class-A surfacing specialist Torben Richert to inform the interested engineers about virtual and conceptual development progresses. Central element of the lecture was the class-A surfacing development and the possibilities to increase quality and efficiency potential in the product development process related therewith.
„The success of a new car does not only depend on an excellent technology, but also on the attractive styling of all visible surfaces” explained René Esser. But especially this often, very sensitive task requires an increased need for communication and coordination between concept design and detail design, which might contain a certain potential for conflicts. For this reason IndustrieHansa relies on an early and sustainable consulting approach for the class-A surfacing development: „On working level as well as on management level we provide over 30 years experience in engineering and take over key positions in the communication chain next to the actual class-A surfacing,” elucidates managing director Esser.
In the course of the lecture class-A surfacing specialist Richert highlighted further important instruments in order to increase quality and efficiency in the surfacing process. He would also emphasize the meaning of the specific use of standardized tools and parametric auxiliaries as well as methods for quality optimisation of surface geometries. „Spreading the distribution of hole structures, i.e. for ventilation grates can be patterned in such a harmonious way, that the centre of gravity in the distribution can not be perceived, “convinced Richert the engineers present.
In his closing words René Esser formulated a clear message: “For a lasting increase in quality and efficiency in the class-A surfacing process not only experienced employees are required, but also a high degree of trust and mutual understanding.“
With a team with more than 60 specialists IndustrieHansa Consulting & Engineering GmbH, located in Munich, represents one of the largest competence centres for the automotive class-A surfacing development in Europe.
