Introduction
The increasing variety of car programs leads to more and more cars being offered alternatively with two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel alternative is equipped with an additional drive shaft for the additionally driven axle. High demands are placed on the bearings of such drive shafts. A tolerance analysis should ensure the function of an additional drive shaft for the newly to be developed power train of a premium manufacturer located in Southern Germany.
Due to the proven expert competences engineers of IndustrieHansa have been assigned.
Solution: Completion of a static 3D tolerance study considering all part and process tolerances for assembly as well as for operating status.

- Set-up of a 3D tolerance simulation model on the basis of CAD data and drawings
- Verification of the tolerance data in the drawings with respect to clearness and completeness
- Monte Carlo simulation for calculation of tolerance related deviations
- Contributor calculation in order to determine relevant parameters.
