Introduction
New vertical bearings were to be developed for a more efficient type of machine as part of modernization measures about to be undertaken by a manufacturer of power plants from western Germany. These bearings are used to support the so-called rotors in a generator and are secured to the foundation.

The design work associated with these new bearings was undertaken by IndustrieHansa, whose proven expertise in this line of work won them the bid for this project.

Solution: Responsibility for design work and production of a layout control system for the design drawings.

Benefits
The project resulted in newly developed vertical bearings for the generator. Through use of the layout control system we designed and produced for design work, the customer is able to produce more vertical bearings in a considerably shorter timescale. The reduced probability of mistakes in the design is yet another benefit.
