Implementing a production system

Sectors: Automotive
Category: Consulting
Process: Production
Customer: OEM for camper and motorhomes
Introduction
When implementing a production system in an existing production plant, an OEM from southern Germany was pursuing the objective of long-term process optimization.

The project's managers chose to use IndustrieHansa to overcome this challenge as they wanted experienced and expert know-how.

Solution: Standardization of processes as part of implementing the manufacturer's production system in conjunction with a fundamental redesign and optimization of the existing engine assembly.

Puncture points
  • Survey and analysis of all manual and automatic actual processes
  • Target/performance comparison
  • Organizing workshops with process partners in order to identify potential
  • Re-orientation of assembly following the principles of the production system
  • Production of assembly layouts
  • Planning and procurement of systems and special equipment
  • Optimization up to workplace level using MTM time studies and analyses of ergonomics

Benefits
The customer stands to benefit from sustainable process optimization through more efficient, more flexible and lower-cost processes, avoidance of material stock levels and reduction in complexity (low-cost automation) through standardization. The stringent alignment of all processes to value-added means a considerable cost saving in all the departments involved.
