Optimization of development process in electronic systems

Sectors: Others
Category: Consulting
Process: Development
Introduction
A leading manufacturer in Germany and throughout the world of pump systems required external assistance in developing a totally new approach to saving energy in heating systems in building services engineering because the size of the project meant it couldn't be managed in-house. The work was to focus on developing an electronic feedback control and single-loop control system.

Since the project required considerable extra management capacities to control and monitor the development processes, the customer decided to bring onboard the know-how of IndustrieHansa experts.

Solution: Overall optimization of development processes in electronics development and quality assurance, including reorganizing the content of work and implementing binding standards.

Puncture points
  • Recording of processes in development and quality assurance
  • Establishment of potential for reducing the resources needed
  • Analysis of processes into value-adding and non-value-adding activities
  • Reorganization of work content and job descriptions
  • Implementation of binding standards (work schedules, info boards, fault reports etc.)
  • Moderation of workshops
  • Carrying out EMC studies
  • Implementation of a CIP system

Benefits
During the "Project control for electronics development" project, processes were streamlined and the groundwork therefore laid for a faster time-to-market for new products. The project also improved quality and established a standard in quality assurance which will ensure a high level of quality in the future beyond this project.
