Structuring, organization and layout planning for new production hall (assembly)
Category: Engineering
Process: Production
Customer: OEM
Introduction
During the integrated and scheduled production of a complete crossover series, a US factory belonging to an OEM from southern Germany needed to extend its factory in the form of new factory planning to satisfy aspects of a value-adding production system.
Based on its experience and know-how in structuring, organization and layout planning in an assembly environment, IndustrieHansa was awarded the contract to oversee this work.
Solution: Generation of a useful and complete layout, which covers all areas – construction, technical building equipment, structure, logistics, and assembly.
Puncture points
Benefits
Massive costs savings resulting from the variety in the new factory planning in terms of built-on area, materials handling, installation technology, provision and logistics. The detailed planning also meant that the foundations could also be laid to increase production output from 450 to 950 units a day. It was therefore possible for an efficient, transparent and cost-optimum value flow to be produced.

Puncture points
- Concept for the factory structure's new planning based on a reference factory
- Planning the finger structure in the rough concept
- Fine planning of the entire structure in agreement with the specialist planning departments for logistics, construction, installation and assembly
- Preparation of detailed plans for materials handling, elevators, test rigs and system supplier platforms
- Variant planning for the individual stages of advance assembly including materials handling and handling equipment
- Interface function between the specialist departments for logistics, construction, structure and installation
- Optimization of area management
- Overseeing, checking and evaluating the DISP (Data Integration of Structure and Product) data interfaces between MicroStation XM, CATIA V5 and Mercury Quality Center
- Production of construction drawings and cross-sections with steel superstructure and media supply
